Job description
Overview

The Product Manager will be responsible for products throughout their lifecycle. From identifying candidate Products and services based on market opportunities, through design, productionisation, release, operation and retirement/migration. You will work closely with the Corporate Division as well as Technical Teams and Customer Success.

As a Product Manager you will be responsible for the product roadmap to address the developments needed to detect toxic, illegal and brand damaging social media content to protect our customers and their brands. You will also think carefully about the User Experience that underpins customer satisfaction with our products. You will have had customer facing experience, and will be motivated to engage with our customers to really understand the market and their individual needs. As a result of this, you will be expected to be comfortable working at strategic as well as operational (and occasionally tactical) levels.

In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of key competitors and relentlessly focus on our unique value proposition and points of differentiation. Working with senior stakeholders you will carefully consider the market focus of our products and ensure that our risk coverage, reporting outputs and data analytics lead the field in the sectors in which we choose to play.

You will collaborate closely with the Account Management, Service Quality, Human Intelligence and Service Desk teams to ensure you collate all customer requirements, as well as the internal requirements for the product /service development.

You will be an advocate for our customers and our users (Human Intelligence Analysts), internal and external, and will coordinate the people and process with the technology. Ideally, you will have previously worked in a SaaS / Technology environment where you have partnered with and represented external customers, acting as an advocate for their needs. You’ll also understand UX/UI and will ensure this is factored into the roadmap and development activities. Our services offer a blend of Technology and Human skills and managing this blend is a major factor in our success.

You will own the delivery of product development activities, ensure release management activities including documentation and training are delivered, and monitor and drive adoption.

Responsibilities
  • Identifying and prioritising problems to solve and Product feature ideas
  • Ensure that all parties have clear understanding of the end goal and are focussed on delivering the outcomes
  • Creating a vision so that the development team can clearly understand the expected outcome for the user
  • Write customer-based story for what the product needs to do and assign work based on required features
  • Manage the prioritisation of work based on a range of factors.
  • Scope work items / tickets that need to be executed to complete the development work
  • Chart and monitor progress toward product completion for each component and the final product
  • Test results with a structured approach (hypothesis, evaluation) in order to learn, adjust and innovate
  • Writing analysis plans for projects, contributing to RFPs, pitching ideas effectively and persuasively to stakeholders
  • Sign off all customer-facing product releases
  • Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities, including developing or standing up core capabilities
  • Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
  • Driving a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering, and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning
  • Partner on the messaging for the GTM plan, working with all departments to execute including driving awareness & buy-in
  • Overseeing multiple concurrent successful product builds and deliver using diverse capabilities and teams - statistics, software, consulting - and ensure continuous improvements of project or product delivery
  • Coordinate work with other software development and infrastructure teams to incorporate product components in the final product.
  • Use excellent communication skills to present and translate meaningful technical concepts to lay-audiences
Qualifications and Experience
  • Consistent track record for solving critical problems on enterprise products with the ability to navigate technical tradeoffs in application and platform development.
  • Experience of the context/domain we work in (Risk Intelligence / Moderation / Security / Internet Safety).
  • Proven track record of prioritising and making data-driven decisions on requirements and deliverables in a rapidly changing environment where the best outcome is achieved
  • Extensive experience in product management, ideally in a B2B SAAS / technology environment.
  • Previous experience working within a fast-paced, customer-driven environment
  • Expertise in managing key stakeholders including development teams and wider business
  • Experience of a fast-paced, cutting edge technology environment.
  • Degree educated (or equivalent) or of degree calibre
