Site Operative – Infrastructure
Location – Selby, North Yorkshire
What you will be doing:

We’re seeking an experienced general operative to support day‑to‑day site activities, including labouring, unloading materials, maintaining fencing and walkways, and assisting with excavations, pipework and concrete works. You’ll help keep the site safe, tidy and well‑organised while working under the direction of the Site Foreman.

  • General labouring, unloading and moving materials
  • Maintain site fencing, temporary walkways and welfare areas
  • Assist with excavations, pipework installation and concrete works
  • Operate hand and power tools safely
  • Follow all site rules and instructions from management
  • Communicate clearly and work safely, identifying hazards
  • Take care of company tools and equipment
About you:
  • Strong focus on safe working, with honesty, integrity, pride, and a flexible, proactive attitude
  • Effective communicator with good problem‑solving skills; able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Experienced in general civil engineering tasks, including concrete works, fencing installation/removal, compound management, and establishing safety systems
  • Valid CSCS Labourer card essential; full driving licence (B/B1/BE) with experience driving construction vehicles on site and public roads
  • Competent in supervising deliveries and operating plant/equipment; Roller/Dumper CPCS, NRSWA, and Banksman training (preferred but not essential)
