Job Title: Senior Project Manager (Structured Cabling SME)

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the delivery and oversight of Whitespace projects across all Business Units within the UK DCS business, with particular focus on structured cabling. The role supports and manages client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and project leader to grow the business relationship and projects offering within Data Centre Solutions. Working closely with the in-region Whitespace Director, you will oversee all aspects of project delivery and contribute to the business development and marketing strategy for the Whitespace Projects Business. The Senior Project Manager will ensure alignment between the account organisation and other DCS departments to maximise value creation and ensure excellence in project delivery by directing and overseeing teams to fulfil our client commitments.

• Business Development & Marketing
• Report on all major DC developments in region to keep senior management informed of potential opportunities
• Build relationships with key stakeholders in major DCs in region
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing client base
• Drive growth in the Projects Business by maintaining a strong pipeline for Whitespace projects
• Provide leadership in identifying and specifying project opportunities and delivering on contractual commitments on secured projects
• Deliver effective business communication and contribute to management meetings, briefings, and reporting
• Support the sales process through solutions development and participation in presentations
• Act as an expert in DCS business, culture and strategy by proactively contributing to improvement
• Develop and manage bids, tenders and proposals with the Design team
• Management, Planning & Value Creation
• Deliver projects on time and on budget, exceeding expectations where possible
• Identify, reduce and manage risks (technical, statutory, health and safety, commercial)
• Build relationships with industry manufacturers & distributors
• Ensure compliance with CBRE project management policies and procedures
• Provide healthy and safe working conditions and ensure health and safety policy is implemented across CBRE and sub-contractors
• Deliver Health and Safety file timely and ensure compliance with local regulations
• Foster relationships with sub-contractors and preferred suppliers to ensure cost-effective, quality solutions
• Establish and execute resource and people strategy
• Develop project financial plans for revenue and profit delivery
• Ensure positive cash flow with timely invoices and payment schedules, debt below 60 days
• Manage project delivery within budget to maximise profit through cost reductions and better sub-contractor buying
• Maintain control systems to meet statutory, policy and contractual commitments
• Strategically interpret needs and identify new value-added services
• Exploit opportunities for strategic development of projects to increase turnover and profitability
• Collaborate with other Operational managers for effective team development
• Maintain customer focus and strong relationships with key client contacts and CBRE site teams

• Ensure fulfilment of commitments to customers and leverage the broader DCS portfolio for integrated services

• Project Management skills with experience at contract management level and ability to manage a portfolio of projects
• Commercial awareness and strong financial acumen
• Strong influencing, selling and negotiation skills
• Present with confidence; understand commercial and financial metrics
• Internal and external customer management; networking and marketing skills

• Knowledge of the structured cabling & construction market
• Knowledge of the data centre market / industry
• Project management methodology

• Minimum of 5 years proven project management experience in Technology/ICT sector specifically structured cabling
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing new project opportunities
• Demonstrable evidence of having managed a team
• Experience of creating, presenting and managing bids, tenders and proposals
• Experience of running a P&L

• Recognised technical qualification in ICT/ structured cabling
• Business standard of written and verbal literacy and above-average numeracy
• Recognised qualification in project management

• CTPM
