Job summary
A transportation service provider in Inverness is seeking an experienced HGV/PSV Mechanic to join their team. The role involves routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of vehicles, ensuring they remain road-ready. The company offers £23.00 per hour, guaranteed 40+ hours a week, paid holidays, overtime options, and private dental and medical insurance. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in a similar role, strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, and a valid UK driving licence.

At D&E Coaches, we take pride in delivering exceptional transport services across the Highlands and beyond. Behind every smooth journey is a skilled team keeping our vehicles in top shape—and now, we’re looking for an experienced HGV/PSV Mechanic to join us.
As a key member of our workshop team, you’ll carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles—from DAF and Vanhool to Volvo and Mercedes. You will help diagnose issues before they become problems and ensure our coaches are road-ready every day.
Main Duties Include:
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues
- Replacing or fixing faulty parts and components
- Carrying out inspections and preventive maintenance
- Keeping accurate records of all work performed
- Maintaining high safety and performance standards across the fleet
- £23.00 per hour , with guaranteed 40+ hours a week
- 8-10 hour shifts; Monday-Friday with weekend availability
- No lunch break deductions
- Paid holidays and overtime options
- Overtime paid at time and a quarter
