About the Job

Part Time - 0.83 FTE (30.71 hours per week)

Interview Date: w/c 26 January 2026

As the successful candidate, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate law courses.

You will contribute to a broad range of modules within the Law curriculum, with particular emphasis on:

  • Intellectual Property Law
  • Commercial and Business Law
  • Practice-focused modules, such as those relating to litigation and ADR

An ability to support teaching on other core subjects such as Land Law would be advantageous, as would experience of legal practice/a practising certificate.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, as a Senior Lecturer you will be expected to:

  • Lead modules and provide course leadership, helping to ensure that the School delivers high-quality courses and an excellent student experience
  • Lead on curriculum development and innovation
  • Engage in research and scholarly activity aligned with the School’s strategic priorities

  • An academic background in law
  • Expertise in one or more of the priority subject areas outlined above
  • Demonstrable course and module leadership experience

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree qualification or equivalent in relevant subject
  • Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale

Desirable

  • Master’s degree in relevant subject
  • Doctorate in relevant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion
