Overview

Nonprofit Leadership Programme role at The Borgen Project. This is an unpaid remote programme intended to develop leadership and advocacy skills for individuals aiming to address global poverty.

Responsibilities
  • Advocacy Leadership Development — Meet with members of Government in your District/Constituency; represent The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events; mobilise individuals to contact their members of Government in support of key poverty-reduction legislation.
  • Fundraising Development — Learn how to fundraise. Create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets.
  • Recruitment — Update job postings; inform groups and classes of openings; introduction to recruitment platforms and listen in to interviews.
  • Marketing and Promotion — Pitch story ideas to print, broadcast and digital media; utilise social media and develop strategies for web-based messaging.
Program Details
  • Part-time: 12 hours per week
  • Duration: 12 weeks
  • Status: Unpaid internship; college credit available
  • Format: Remote programme
  • Start Date: New programmes begin every month (you may start in the month you choose); if availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the programme in fewer weeks.
Experience
  • No prior experience is necessary; we’re looking for people who are passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of GPA or background.
