At McAllister, a Vortex Company, we are looking for a General Manager to take charge of our Northern Ireland / Ireland operations and lead a dynamic team to deliver excellence in trenchless technologies and environmental infrastructure services.
As General Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving operational performance, leading regional strategy, overseeing contracts and delivering high-quality service for our clients across multiple service lines. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and work closely with the UK & Ireland Managing Director and the wider Vortex International Group to implement business strategy and ensure best‑in‑class delivery across the region.
- Lead all operational activities across the NI & Ireland region.
- Oversee performance across safety, quality, productivity and financial KPIs.
- Drive commercial success and client satisfaction across multiple contracts.
- Lead and mentor senior leaders including Heads of Operations and Commercial.
- Champion health & safety and ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Promote a culture of innovation, performance and continuous improvement.
- Lead forecasting, budgeting and regional financial reporting.
- Work cross‑functionally with Fleet, HSQE, HR and Group functions.
- Represent McAllister at key regional forums and with strategic clients.
- Minimum 5 years’ senior leadership experience in utilities, trenchless or civil engineering.
- Proven commercial and operational acumen with P&L responsibility.
- In‑depth knowledge of the Northern Ireland infrastructure or environmental sector.
- Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills.
- Strong understanding of H&S, compliance, and operational risk management.
