Job description

Farfetch is a leading global marketplace for the luxury fashion industry, connecting customers in over 190 countries with items from more than 50 countries and over 1,400 of the world’s best brands and charming boutiques from around the world. Farfetch opens a world of luxury for endless expressions of style, delivering a truly unique shopping experience and access to the most extensive selection of luxury on a global marketplace.

COMMERCIAL

The Commercial team drives our strategic partnerships with the world's leading brands and boutiques to source the best selection and optimise sales channels for our partners. Their work offers our customers access to incredible products and the most extensive selection of luxury for endless style.

LONDON

Our London office is located in Old Street, London’s tech hub, and is home to a wide range of teams. Our open space is ideal for collaborative work and sharing ideas. We also have a large outdoor terrace, which is the perfect spot to have a team lunch or host events.

THE ROLE

The Commercial Planning function at Farfetch is a growing team of commercial and technical experts working to manage the Farfetch marketplace supply, demand, and broader Trading proposition – with various stakeholders from across the business to understand drivers of trading performance, so as to minimise risks and maximise trading opportunities across different time horizons.

The Senior Commercial Projects Analyst will report to the Head of Commercial Planning & Projects, and be the primary point of contact for analysis and reporting relating to key commercial projects. You will partner with business stakeholders to build reporting and analyse performance trends to inform business decisions and drive actions to ensure projects stay within pre-defined guardrails. Additionally you will be responsible for supply pricing, and developing strategic levers to optimise this. Your work will directly feed into finance outlooks, so that topline and bottomline impacts are captured and tracked.

You will work closely with colleagues from across the business, including Finance, Supply Partnerships, Pricing, and Operations, etc, building strong working relationships and offering a neutral but strong stance towards performance analysis, ensuring that projects continue to deliver against our top and bottom-line targets, and consistently operate within set guardrails.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead on various supply-side incentives, including commercial rebates on key constrained supply, financial products for partners to better manage cash flow and broader commission rate negotiations
  • Working with Supply Partnerships team to assess partner pain-points from a commercial perspective - this could range from operational processes, payment terms, or margin challenges
  • Develop strategies to address those pain-points, enabling the unlock of attractive supply and achievement of full parity from our supply partners, supporting their execution on an ongoing basis
  • Set targets and measure performance of these incentives, ensuring they continue to deliver on objectives and drive the expected return on investment
  • Monitor progress of key strategic projects, owning the tracking of supply-side margins and working with partner-facing teams and internal finance and pricing teams to optimise them
  • Actively involved in the scoping of new business initiatives, particularly on ensuring financial guardrails are met while delivering a compelling proposition for our supply partners to make the project a success
  • Develop and lead on programme-level KPI tracking from a Commercial POV, unpicking drivers of performance and working with various teams to improve performance
  • On an ongoing basis, conduct analysis to understand how these projects impact Farfetch margin evolution through the season so we can better define our strategy and plan our business going forward
  • Fill analytical gaps in various commercial areas, aligned to business needs
  • Leverage your breadth of knowledge across different areas of the business, and depth of expertise in various performance and financial metrics, to help dig into particular areas where there is a business need
  • This could include supporting ongoing forecasting / planning needs, as well as new projects that the commercial team will embark on and requiring cross-functional knowledge and analytical capabilities to facilitate
WHO YOU ARE
  • Highly commercially minded, with experience in Commercial Strategy & Planning or Consulting
  • Advanced forecasting and data modelling techniques
  • Use data to bring operationally and commercially relevant insights
  • Experience working with a range of stakeholders, including senior management
  • You have great communication skills and are comfortable structuring and transforming commercial inputs into numbers
  • You have technical skills for processing and analysing large amounts of data
  • Required: Excel (can perform complex functions) and SQL
  • Understanding and passion for e-commerce and the fashion/luxury industry is a very big plus!
REWARDS & BENEFITS
  • Employee Pension Scheme
  • Flexible Benefits Program
  • Health Insurance & Critical Illness cover
  • Flexible work environment- Hybrid Model (3 days a week from the office, 2 days from home)
