Are you a passionate and motivated vet looking for a unique and flexible role? A forward-thinking practice on the stunning Isle of Wight is seeking a Mixed Vet to join their supportive team. This role offers the perfect blend of small animal and farm work, set against the backdrop of one of the UK's most beautiful and diverse environments.
Imagine working just 3 or 4 days a week, with a generous salary that reflects your experience. The Isle of Wight, a UNESCO biosphere, offers an unparalleled lifestyle with surf, sea swimming, mountain biking, and even sea eagles right on your doorstep. Plus, with easy access to cross-channel ports, airports, and direct trains to central London, you’re never far from the action.
The practice itself is a vibrant and dynamic place to work. The farm side of the practice cares for 10,000 cattle and 30,000 breeding ewes, with a strong focus on sustainability. Regular client meetings cover fascinating topics like integrated parasite management and anti-microbial stewardship. The practice supports ongoing professional development with a generous CPD budget and all the latest farm practice equipment. They even organise trips to progressive farms on the mainland, helping clients translate new knowledge into practical applications.
The small animal side of the practice is equally exciting, with a busy and varied caseload. The clinic is well-equipped with DR, ultrasound, and dental x-ray facilities, ensuring high standards of care. Clinical freedom is a cornerstone of the practice’s ethos, yet the support of the wider Vet Partners community provides additional employment benefits.
The out-of-hours rota is a quiet 1 in 4, and the practice is currently training an ATT to minimise routine testing, allowing you to focus on clinical work. The team of 12 vets boasts a wide range of specialisms, so whether you have a passion for raptors, capuchin monkeys, or tapirs, there’s room for you to explore your interests.
Flexible working pattern (3–4 days per week) with a generous salary reflective of experience. The Isle of Wight offers a rich lifestyle with natural beauty and outdoor activities, plus easy access to cross-channel transport and London.
Clinical freedom within a supportive structure, ongoing professional development with a CPD budget, and access to the latest farm practice equipment. The team benefits from a collaborative culture and membership in the Vet Partners community.
You must be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon and eligible to register with the RCVS to be considered for this role.
