Position Summary

Thrive UK seeks a Business Development Manager to accelerate growth by selling monthly recurring managed services into our regional customer communities. This high‑profile role requires a highly motivated, goal‑oriented individual capable of independent work in a demanding environment. The role involves consultative sales with a strong focus on relationship building, technical aptitude, proven quota attainment, and a track record of closing deals.

Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed revenue goals established by senior management through direct (75%+) and indirect (<25%) sales efforts.
  • Negotiate customer contracts to attain quota within pre‑approved gross margin parameters.
  • Understand and articulate Thrive’s value proposition via consultative sales approach.
  • Establish and qualify pipeline, engaging resources to develop technical requirements and solutions.
  • Maintain account information, funnels, and forecasts in Salesforce.com CRM to meet and exceed revenue goals.
  • Maintain knowledge of current technologies and services relevant to Thrive and the managed services industry (Cloud and Security are pre‑requisites).
  • Recommend and attend relevant industry technology and networking events.
  • Attend meetings with qualified prospects at client locations.
  • Complete required paperwork and reports promptly.
  • Perform additional duties upon management request.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of technical sales experience.
  • Solution sales skills.
  • Excellent grammar, written and oral communication skills.
  • High‑level understanding of computer networking technology and industry trends.
  • Experience in consultative sales within a service‑based organization.
  • Ability to develop professional rapport, overcome objections, and maintain an influential demeanor both in person and over the phone.
Preferred
  • Education to degree level or equivalent.
  • Experience with a systems integration, computer hardware/software reseller, or managed services provider.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience with CRM tools and processes.
  • Experience selling technology or technology services (Managed IT Services, SaaS, HaaS, hosted services, professional IT/integration services).
  • Relevant technical or sales certifications (MCP, VSP, VTSP, ITIL).
  • A well‑established professional network complementary to the role.
