# Visitor Assistant (Part Time), Multiple contracts**3 x part-time posts available:****Contract 1: Tuesday and Wednesday, 12.00-15.00, total 6 hours a week****Contract 2: Saturday and Sunday, 12.00-15.00, total 6 hours a week****Contract 3: flexible zero-hours contract, as and when required. Shifts are agreed in advance and include regular weekends and evenings.**Please state which contract(s) you are applying for within your application.Kettle's Yard is hiring for Visitor Assistants to join our fantastic Front of House Team. Visitor Assistants (VAs) are a public facing team which oversees the day-to-day security of the exhibitions and collections while also ensuring visitors' experience of Kettle's Yard is safe, enjoyable, accessible and informative.This role functions across both the historic cottages and the exhibition galleries. VAs are required to fulfil their dual function of safety and visitor engagement across both locations. No prior knowledge of Kettle's Yard, Jim Ede, or fine art is required. Successful candidates will be given training and will also be expected to learn on the job through research, active engagement with the collection and exhibitions, and through self-guided study. The VAs will report into the Duty Managers and Operations Manager and work as part of the Front of House team.Kettle's Yard is open to the public between 11am and 5pm, Tuesday through Sunday.**The particular contract pattern for contracts 1 and 2 are to provide lunch cover for the wider Visitor Assistant team working 12.00 - 3.00pm. There will be opportunities for additional hours to cover occasional evening events and sickness/holiday cover.****Contract 3 is a flexible zero-hours contract. Shifts available include lunch cover shifts 12.00 - 3.00pm, occasional full-day shifts 10.30am - 5.00pm and out of hours evening events. Shifts can be offered across all days of the week, but the greatest number of shifts available are at our busiest periods Friday - Sunday.**About Kettle's YardKettle's Yard is the University of Cambridge's modern and contemporary art gallery. It was founded in 1957 by Jim and Helen Ede. It consists of a beautiful house with a remarkable collection of modern art and a gallery that presents a diverse programme of modern and contemporary art exhibitions.
