Location: Springfield Primary School, Spondon, Derby.

Responsibilities
  • Work with individuals or small groups under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of a qualified teacher.
  • Help pupils understand instructions and support independent learning, including some SEND pupils.
  • Assist with behaviour management and keep pupils on task.
  • Prepare and clear up the learning environment, including photocopying, filing, displaying and presenting pupils' work.
  • Record basic pupil data and support teachers in monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress/activities, including Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Assist pupils with dressing, personal hygiene, eating, feeding, toileting and changing as required while encouraging independence.
  • Carry out allocated tasks under direct supervision of a qualified teacher.
  • Support the teacher in behaviour management and ensuring compliance with child protection, health and safety policies.
  • Maintain a safe, pleasant learning environment.
  • Support the teacher with inclusion of all pupils and promote the values of the school.
Apprenticeship & Training
  • Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.
  • The apprentice will receive all training on the workplace and will have an assigned Educator from Heart of England Training who will meet them virtually over Teams.
  • It is hoped, but not guaranteed, that a full‑time employment offer may be made upon completion of the qualification.
Schedule

Monday – Friday, 08:20 am – 04:20 pm (one day ends at 4:00 pm)
