Senior Electrical Engineer – Building Services

About the Opportunity

We are recruiting a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a well-established building services consultancy in Manchester. This role offers responsibility for delivering and coordinating electrical engineering design across significant and technically complex projects.

You will work closely with clients, architects, and project partners, taking ownership of design delivery while supporting the technical development of junior engineers. The Manchester team operates across a diverse project pipeline, including local, regional, and international schemes, offering early-stage design involvement and exposure to complex building systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering delivery on smaller projects and take discipline ownership within larger, complex schemes
• Develop and refine project briefs, translating client requirements into practical and compliant engineering solutions
• Produce and review calculations, technical reports, specifications, and detailed design packages
• Coordinate electrical design with mechanical, architectural, and structural teams to deliver integrated MEP solutions
• Monitor progress, risks, and deliverables, reporting to senior management and ensuring programmes are met
• Attend and contribute to client meetings, design team meetings, and technical workshops
• Delegate tasks to junior engineers and review their work to ensure quality, compliance, and consistency
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering complex electrical building services projects
• Background working within a consultancy or design‑led engineering environment
• Strong proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows
• Working knowledge of Electrical OM, Dialux, and Relux
• Experience coordinating with architects, contractors, and project managers
• Confident communicator with the ability to present technical information clearly
• Experience managing workloads and reviewing the work of others
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreamsCollaborative, professional approach with a focus on high‑quality delivery
