Supported by our experienced Radiology Manager you will work as part of an integrated team alongside our Diagnostic Imaging Manager and Radiographers to assist with the delivery of safe, high quality services to patients and users of the service. This will include meeting and greeting patients, coordinating and managing bookings and supporting self-pay advisors.

What you'll be doing
  • To meet and greet patients and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • To work closely with the Department Manager and Radiographers, as part of an integrated team to assist with the delivery of safe, high quality services to patients and users of the service.
  • To coordinate and manage the booking of NHS patients referred to the Department both internally and externally.
  • To support the Self-Pay Advisors with advice regarding appointments and reporting.
  • To effectively communicate to patients the details of all imaging procedures undertaken within the Radiology Department.
  • To perform regular stock checks and to re-order and update stock levels as appropriate ensuring that the Department is never left with inadequate stock of all consumable supplies.
  • To liaise effectively with all hospital departments and ensure that inter-departmental data flow is efficient and responsive at all times.
  • To undertake accurate entry of patient information into the Hospital Information System ( Maxims).
  • To assist with the entry of scanned imaging information into the Health Information System (PACS).
  • To assist with managing patient flow both in to and out of the Radiology Department including the provision of a patient reception service.
  • To effectively communicate to patients the details of all imaging procedures undertaken within the Radiology Department.
  • To assist the Department Manager with general administration duties within the Department.
  • To maintain the Department Patient Record System, sending reports/images to external agencies.
  • To input and outcome the Referral Management Page (RMP)
  • To undertake the booking of subsequent out patient department appointments for review after imaging.
  • To manage the registration and processing of outsourced referrals.
  • To undertake audits as specified by the Department Manager

  • Ability to work flexibly within the needs of the service including a willingness to work out of normal office hours
  • Good telephone skills including the ability to effectively communicate clinical information to patients and referring clinicians.
  • Numerate and literate.
  • Experience with managing multi-disciplinary patient appointment systems
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Able to work under pressure.
