About the Role

As a Professional Lead for Access to Education and Alternative Provision, you will work within the Education Inclusion and Participation service function, part of the Access, Inclusion and Participation pillar. You will serve as the council's expert advisor on access to education and alternative provision, working closely with schools, NHS, SEND services and other partners.

The Team You Will Be Working In

The Lifelong Learning, Skills & Employment division provides statutory and community services. The team is organised into four operational service areas under the Children’s & Adults Services Department, aiming to realise the borough’s ‘limitless’ Lifelong Learning Strategy.

About You
  • Coordinate statutory responsibilities for Fair Access and strengthen borough-wide collaboration to ensure equitable access for all pupils.
  • Oversee operational management of Children Missing Education (CME) and Elective Home Education (EHE) services.
  • Provide strategic leadership for Alternative Provision, ensuring compliance with Section 19 of the Education Act 1996, maintaining quality standards, and expanding partnerships.
