About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a part‑time Occupational Therapist to join our Mental Health team at HMP Lancaster Farms, a category C Prison located in the outskirts of Lancaster, Lancashire. HMP Lancaster Farm consists of 550 males.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Be responsible for the provision of occupational therapy assessment, treatment, and evaluation.
  • Provide visible and professional support to ensure the delivery of high‑quality patient care and rehabilitation aimed at improving or maintaining independence.
  • Work with a caseload of patients with varying difficulties, including complete health and social care needs; respond effectively to changing needs, managing conflicting priorities of prevention of admission and discharge.
  • Assess and order equipment as identified by patient need and allocate work to OT assistant or care staff as necessary. Establish communication networks with other team members, patients and other health and social care agencies, attending joint visits with other professionals as required.
Hours
  • Monday – Friday
  • 22.5 hours per week
  • Hours to cover 8 am – 4 pm
Salary

This position is part‑time; you’ll receive an annual salary up to £43,609 – £49,175 per annum FTE, depending on experience, pro‑rota.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma/degree in occupational therapy with current professional qualification (HCPC)
  • Post‑registration experience and evidence of continual professional development
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working
  • Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards
  • Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment (not essential but ideal)
