About the Job

The Funding Solutions Specialist is responsible for identifying, analysing and sourcing market funding initiatives, then matching those to the needs of clients across the firm’s portfolio. This role acts as a trusted advisor, supporting businesses in their growth and development by securing suitable financing solutions and guiding them through the process from opportunity identification to successful funding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scan the market for funding opportunities, including grants, loans, investment schemes, and government initiatives relevant to diverse client sectors
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of funding programmes and regularly update the wider team on new developments or changes in criteria
  • Evaluate suitability of funding options for individual clients and present tailored recommendations based on business needs, eligibility, and growth objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with funding bodies, lenders, advisors, and relevant third-party contacts
  • Prepare and submit funding applications, supporting documentation, and persuasive business cases to secure finance for clients
  • Collaborate closely with the Accounting and Advisory team to understand detailed client requirements and support successful outcomes
  • Monitor progress of applications, proactively resolve any issues, and ensure all funding is processed efficiently, accurately, and in line with compliance standards
  • Track market trends and regulatory changes in business finance, sharing insights with colleagues and clients
  • Deliver client communications, workshops or training around funding opportunities and best practices as required
  • Produce regular reports for management, tracking activity, logging wins, and ongoing opportunities for clients and the firm.

Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in funding advisory, banking, business finance or grant application roles within professional services or financial sectors
  • In-depth knowledge of UK funding initiatives (including public, private and grant schemes), suitability requirements and application processes
  • Excellent analytical, research and evaluation skills to assess funding options against client needs
  • Confident communication and relationship-building skills; capable of influencing and supporting both clients and external contacts
  • High level of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail
