Job summary

A leading water services company is hiring for a 24-month apprenticeship program. The role involves assisting team leaders to ensure compliance with company policies and working alongside various departments to ensure technical requirements are met. Candidates must have 5 GCSEs, a Level 3 qualification, and strong IT skills. A driving contribution is provided as part of the benefits, alongside a competitive salary and support from a dedicated mentor.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist the team leader in ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Document and communicate procedures related to the delivery of work.
  • Work with commercial teams to ensure contractor arrangements meet technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Health and Safety Teams for new legislation compliance.
  • Liaise with delivery teams for asset handover processes.

Life as a United Utilities Apprentice

Our apprentices are well looked after, with a generous salary, 26 days of leave (excluding bank holidays), a £500 contribution towards learning to drive, and many more benefits.

You’ll have a dedicated mentor and manager to support you every step of the way. All we ask is that you’re willing to learn, work well as part of a team, and manage your time and workload effectively.

A bit more about the role

Your apprenticeship will last 24 months, and successful apprentices will achieve a Level 4 Associate Project Manager standard, endorsed by the Institute for Apprenticeships.

You will need to be mobile in this role, we’ll contribute up to £500 towards driving lessons and tests to help to get you on the road!

Whatwe’relooking for:
  • Assistance theStatutory Team Leaderin ensuring all third parties engaged in activity in completion of the work adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safe systems of work.
  • Assist theStatutory Team Leaderinensuring all procedures and processes associated with the delivery of this work are documented,communicatedand adhered to across the company
  • Working withCommercialensure that allthird partycontractorarrangements are robust and meet the technical requirements of the activities.
  • Work with Engineering and Health and Safety Teams to ensureUnited Utilities is compliant withnewlegislationwhenimplemented.
  • Liaise with Capital Delivery Teams toensure arobust process for handover of assets in compliance with the statutory inspection and maintenance requirements for the agreedasset andequipment types.
  • Work with other areas of the business to ensure a delivery plan is in place to coverstatutory compliance. Examplesof assetsincludepressure vessels,lifting equipment,boilers, navigational markers, gasholdersand pipework
  • Ensure thatjobplans and access arrangements are in place to minimise abortedthird-partycontractorvisits.

You’ll need to have:

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent, grades A-C or grades 9-4, which must include Maths, English and a Science or Technology subject.
  • Plusa Level 3 qualification (A-levels,apprenticeshipor BTEC etc with 48 UCAS points)
  • High levelof IT skills and be able to create and manage MS Office applications and documents
  • A strong ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • StrongProblem-solvingskillsGood communication
