Community Integrated Care is one of the UK's largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enrich the lives of people with many different care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re full of pride and passion for what we do.

Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives Possible’.

We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over 100 national and regional awards!

We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.

Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

With experience working in a health or social care setting, you will have an upbeat positive manner, as well as having a genuine passion for supporting people to become a part of their local and wider community.

You will also have experience working with people supported who present behaviours that require intensive support planning and management to ensure their safety and quality of life at all times.

In addition you will be comfortable using basic IT systems that are required within the role – training can be offered to support this area. You will also hold a professional qualification in Health and Social Care, i.e. Nurse, Social Worker, SVQ Level 3 plus supervisory units (Scotland) / Care Management Level 3 (England).

A little about the Service…

We are different in lots of ways (that’s what makes us so interesting) with our ages ranging between 50 to 65.

Most of us have mobility difficulties and require assistance to get around our house and out and about. We have different challenges in our lives which include visual impairment, dementia and learning disabilities. We have a staff team who are all trained and familiar with supporting someone with similar needs.

What is important to us

  • We enjoy lots of different activities, but our favourites include going for coffee and people watching, shopping and day trips out to other cities or towns.
  • Other interests we have are listening to music, watching good film, arts and crafts, visiting the local pub and going swimming.
  • We are fun loving, kind, caring, considerate, respectful of other people’s personal space and belongings and have a love of music.
  • We all have good sense of humours and love to laugh. Our service is a loud and noisy place, and we like to have staff that are able to thrive in busy situations.
  • Being part of the local community is important to us, we like to go to the same places, as we build up relationships with the people there.
  • Our home is a 1‑story bungalow. All the floors are the same level inside, so we can access all areas.
  • There is a large mature private garden with trees for shade and a paved area where we sit in the summer. We also have a new summer house in the garden.
  • There is shared space in the home where we can eat together and chat which includes the kitchen, dining room and sitting room.
  • The property is on a main road next to a pub.
  • There is parking available off the street next to our home, for family to visit.
Your values:

This is a great opportunity to make a genuine difference, where you will be responsible for leading an engaged and motivated team to change lives and deliver person‑centred outcomes for every person we support. You will also take the lead by driving performance, setting the pace and direction within services, promoting a positive and passionate culture, and ensuring that services are appropriately and effectively resourced to change lives for the better.

Naturally it is important too that you share our company values – We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable, which are at the heart of everything we do and ensure that we deliver high quality, consistent care and support.

People's values are important to use, so we look for people with:

  • Patience
  • Empathy, compassion and sensitivity to others
  • A strong work ethic
  • Reliability
  • Honesty
  • Determination
  • A problem solver
  • Resilience
