Job summary

A values-led charity in Greater Manchester is seeking a Finance Officer to join its Finance Team. This pivotal role involves supporting financial management and ensuring transparency in resource allocation. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of finance experience and preferably hold an AAT Level 3 qualification. Applicants should possess strong numerical and IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and accounting software. The position offers a permanent contract with a supportive working environment and various employee benefits.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a finance role.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit or charity sector is an advantage.
  • Experience of maintaining accurate financial records.

  • Handle day-to-day financial processing including ledgers.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and support controls.

We are excited to be recruiting aFinance Officerto join our Finance Team and play a key role in supporting the charity’sfinancial management,sustainabilityand internal financial systems. Working as part of the wider Operations Team, this role is central to ensuring our resources are managed transparently, responsibly and in line with Charity Law, CharitySORPand funder requirements.

The Finance Officer will work closely with theFinance Manager, Chief Executive and Senior Leaders to provideaccurate,timelyfinancial information that supports effective decision-making and high-quality service delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid finance experience who is looking to develop further within a supportive, mission-driven organisation.

The Role

The Finance Officer willbe responsible for:

  • Supporting the development,monitoringand review of organisational and project budgets
  • Day-to-day financial processing, including purchase ledger, salesledgerand income tracking
  • Maintainingaccuratefinancial records and supporting robust financial systems and controls
  • Supporting funder reporting,auditsand year-end accounts
  • Providing clear financial information to non-financial colleagues
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of finance systems and procedures
