WHY JOIN THE TEAM

The Rights Management team sits within the Global Operations Content & Rights Acquistions department. The team is responsible for management of acquisition, distribution and contributor rights and restrictions data in the BBC Studios Distribution rights management database. The Rights Management team interacts with a number of stakeholders within the C&RA department and the wider business, servicing rights and cost queries from Sales, investigating issues with rights and restrictions, producing bespoke rights reports and working on data enhancement and process improvement projects.

  • Provide a contributor rights clearance cost estimation service for Content Sales teams using Availability Reports run via the BBC Studios rights management system.
  • Provide ad-hoc rights availability information in the form of written communication, face-to-face meetings and bespoke reporting for individual requests, events and special projects.
  • Proactively manage the BBC Studios portfolio of rights by identifying contributor rights expiries and other restrictions impacting exploitation; resolve data conflicts; produce reports and support information for the Rights Executive to distribute to impacted business areas.
  • With the Rights Executive, build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders in the business to ensure rights data is best in class and supports content management to prevent BBC Studios commercial activity resulting in legal or reputational harm.

  • Proven customer service experience with a strong customer focused approach.
