Role Overview
The Head of New Business – Technical Security is a senior commercial role responsible for driving growth exclusively across Doyle Security’s electronic and technical security portfolio. This role focuses on identifying, developing, and securing new technical security clients, leading opportunities from first contact through to contract award. The role works closely with Directors, Technical Services, Monitoring, and Marketing teams to ensure every solution sold is compliant, profitable, and deliverable.
Key Responsibilities
- New Business & Sales Leadership
- Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities across electronic security and fire systems
- Build, manage, and maintain a robust pipeline of new technical security prospects
- Lead initial client engagement, discovery meetings, and site surveys
- Develop strong pre‑contract relationships with decision‑makers and stakeholders
- Solution Design & Proposals
- Assess client risks and operational requirements to design appropriate technical security solutions
- Prepare, present, and lead professional proposals and tender submissions
- Ensure all solutions are:
- Technically compliant (British Standards, fire regulations, data protection)
- Commercially viable and correctly costed
- Deliverable by installation and monitoring teams
- Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with Technical Installations, Monitoring/Control Room, and Operations Support to validate solutions pre‑contract
- Liaise with Directors for pricing approval, margin governance, and contract risk sign‑off
- Support Marketing with campaigns, messaging, and ideas to generate technical security leads
- Governance & Reporting
- Ensure all new business meets Doyle Security’s quality, compliance, and risk standards
- Provide regular reporting to Directors on:
- Pipeline activity
- Conversion rates
- Forecast revenue
- Commercial and delivery risks
Key Objectives / KPIs
- New technical security client acquisition
- Revenue and gross margin contribution
- Conversion rate from enquiry to contract award
- Quality and suitability of contracts secured
- Strength, accuracy, and sustainability of pipeline
- Contribution to long‑term growth strategy
Person Profile
- Essential
- Proven experience in new business development or technical security sales
- Strong knowledge of CCTV, intruder alarms, fire systems, access control, and monitoring
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Highly professional and credible with senior client stakeholders
- Self‑motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working autonomously
- Desirable
- Experience in system design, solution selling, or tendering
- Understanding of British Standards, fire compliance, and data protection (GDPR/CCTV)
- Experience working closely with installation and monitoring teams
