How you you’ll contribute to our mission
You’ll managethecommunicationsteam andactivity,includingmedia relations,internalcommunicationsandcorporate messaging.Collaborateacrossthe Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS)tomaximise audience engagement, brand visibility and commercial performance andstrengthen our reputation as a global leader in conservation,scienceand community engagement.
Some of the thingsyou’lldo
- Support the delivery of the marketing, communications and sales strategy aligned with RZSS’ mission and long-term goals
- Lead on key aspects of the strategy, including reaching and engaging with new audiences
- Plan, draft, editand distribute press releases, media statements and briefing materials
- Work with internal teams and external agencies to deliver integrated campaigns
- Buildandmaintainstrong relationships with journalists and media outlets, influenceopinion, establish RZSS as a credible and trusted voice as a leading wildlife conservation charity and mitigatethe risk of negative publicity
- Monitor sentimentacross media channelsand flag potential risks to senior colleagues
- Designand delivercrisis response and reputational managementprotocols and training
- RepresentRZSS at sectorforums (e.g., BIAZA, ASVA, ACE, ALVA)
What we’re looking for:
- Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent experiencein communications
- Brand positioning and audience growth
- Excellent editorial and writing skills, paying attention to detail and tailoring materials for specific audience
- Stakeholder engagement and relationship-building
- Planning and deliveringcommunicationscampaigns
- Managing multiple projects and deadlines
