Overview

Join the Canal & River Trust today by becoming a Waterway Ranger. This is a great opportunity to make a difference to the lives of canal users and to learn more about canals and keeping them alive.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome early visitors to the World Heritage Site during regular walks along the towpath.
  • Collect litter and help keep the site open and accessible for locals, families and tourists.
  • Report defects or incidents to your task manager and assist with opening the visitor centre.
  • Utilise provided equipment to carry out duties.
Requirements / What we’re looking for
  • Ability to commit a couple of hours to spare on one morning a week (8:30am – 10:00am). More time can be volunteered if you choose to.
  • Friendly, reliable and able to work as part of a team; welcome visitors and contribute to a litter-free environment.
  • Interest in canals and public access, with a willingness to report any issues to the task manager.
  • We welcome interest from both individuals and couples.
