A sports academy is looking for an Academy Scout (Local Recruitment) to monitor and identify talented young players in the City of London. Responsibilities include producing player reports, networking with local scouts, and supporting Talent ID events. Qualifications

  • FA Safeguarding certification.

Responsibilities

  • Manage your individual weekend schedule and attend fixtures within your allocated region or phase.
  • Observe and report on players demonstrating potential within your area and age phase.
  • Network with other local scouts to exchange information and intelligence on potential targets.
  • Keep Local Recruitment Managers updated on high-potential players within your area.
  • Assist in the delivery of Talent ID events and scouting programmes as required.

The Academy Scout (Local Recruitment) plays a vital role in identifying and monitoring talented young players within the local area, whether from grassroots clubs or other academies.

Working as part of the local Academy scouting team, you will be responsible for producing detailed player reports, sharing insights with Academy staff, and contributing to a comprehensive understanding of the player landscape within your assigned region.

We have a particular interest in recruiting scouts with strong networks and knowledge within the following areas:

  • Strong knowledge and network within your designated local area.
  • Previous experience scouting for another Academy (Category 1, 2, or 3).
  • FA Talent ID Level 1 qualification.
  • FA Safeguarding certification.
Responsibilities
  • Manage your individual weekend schedule and attend fixtures within your allocated region or phase.
  • Observe and report on players demonstrating potential within your area and age phase.
  • Network with other local scouts to exchange information and intelligence on potential targets.
  • Keep Local Recruitment Managers updated on high‑potential players within your area.
  • Support communication with families of players involved in Talent ID programmes and trial processes.
  • Assist in the delivery of Talent ID events and scouting programmes as required.
  • Contribute to scouting team meetings to review succession planning and player targets.
  • Attend department meetings, CPD sessions, and all required safeguarding training.
