Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Education Centre for a motivated individual to take on a pivotal role in co‑ordinating and administering the Scottish Graduate Entry to Medicine (ScotGEM) Programme. This is a fast‑paced and rewarding area of medical education, ideal for someone who thrives on challenge and variety.

NHS Dumfries & Galloway is one of the four partner Boards in the innovative ScotGEM programme, providing medical training for graduates. The post holder will be a key member of the NHS Dumfries & Galloway ScotGEM team and will provide senior administrative support to the students prior to their arrival and while on placement.

The postholder will need outstanding organisation skills to ensure they appropriately prioritise a very busy workload and should be confident working unsupervised. Experience of working in the delivery of undergraduate or postgraduate medical education is desirable, as is knowledge of the ScotGEM programme, although training will be given in these specific areas.

Interviews will be held on Friday 30th January 2026 in the Education Centre at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary.
