Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience of teaching students with Special Educational Needs, Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs.
• Awareness of trauma or complex medical needs.
• Strong connection with young people.

Responsibilities

• Design interventions to support student academic engagement.
• Report progress and safeguarding concerns.
• Conduct risk assessments for student safety.
• Attend multi-agency meetings when required.

Skills

Ability to build relationships with young people facing crises

Intermediate IT skills

Specialist knowledge of learning disabilities (ADHD, PDA, ASD)

Awareness of National Curriculum and key stages

Driving Licence and access to own vehicle

Education

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Teaching Qualification (PTLLS or higher)

Safeguarding qualification from last 12 months

Qualification in therapeutic discipline

Training in de-escalation techniques within last 12 months

Enhanced DBS certificate from last three months
