Skills
Job Title: Forklift / Yard Operative. We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Forklift / Yard Operative to join a team based out in Rochester.
This will be a temporary position but does have the potential for more full time work. The working hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. Due to company location own transport is preferred.
- Operate a forklift counterbalance efficiently and safely, adhering to all organisational and legal health and safety guidelines.
- Load and unload goods from delivery vehicles or storage areas, ensuring secure stacking and storage.
- Manage inventory by organising and maintaining the yard and warehouse areas.
- Conduct routine checks and maintenance of the forklift, reporting any faults or issues to the supervisor.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and workflow.
- Assist with manual handling tasks and general yard duties as required.
- Valid Forklift Counterbalance license with proven experience.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse/yard environment.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for inventory management and documentation.
