As an IT Test Engineer, you will join a team that is taking part in a novel programme building critical deployable IT infrastructure within the Defence environment. Day‑to‑day you’ll be required to operate as part of a core test team within an enterprise‑scale development environment, placing you at the heart of the modernisation of Defence’s deployable IT estate.

• Undertaking testing on IT systems and IT infrastructure
• Creating test scripts and undertaking test execution when required for critical systems under development
• Delivering outputs such as technical documentation, trails plans and reports, test plans and developing test scripts working to both time and budget
• Executing test cases in support of infrastructure testing
• Undertaking formal and informal testing as directed by Test Managers

• Previous experience testing IT infrastructure e.g. VMware, Windows, Active Directory, Networking, Switching/Routing, Software Data Centre or Software Defined Networking
• Experience in performing functional, non‑functional and regressions testing of Microsoft Windows Server products in complex environments
• The ability to document test procedures, prepare test documentation including test plans, test scripts, evidence collection and defect reporting
• Previous experience in manual and test management tools e.g. HP Quality Centre, ALM, Jira and Test rails etc.
• Proven experience in Black Box testing, white box testing, SIT, SAT, UAT and OAT testing

• ISTQB Certified Tester, MCSA Microsoft Certified Server Associate, VMware Certified Practitioner (VCP), a relevant engineering/IT degree or relevant equivalent experience

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Portsmouth Technology Park or at our customer site in Corsham, 5 days per week.
