Typical onsite working hours are 8am – 8pm**Job Type:** 6 months fixed term contract**Role Description**As a Festival Operations Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional event experiences across our festivals and live music projects. Working within the Cream team, a group united by a passion for music, events, and putting people first, you will support the planning and delivery of festival operations from start to finish.This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment, enjoys working collaboratively, and is energised by the buzz of live events. If you’re passionate about music, events, and people, you’ll feel right at home with us.**Who you are****Competencies / Skills / Knowledge / Experience*** Ideally candidates will have experience working onsite at festivals or in live music/electronic music venues/clubs or related industry.* Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage shifting priorities.* Confident communicator with the ability to coordinate with a wide range of stakeholders including vendors, artists, staff, and contractors.* Proficiency in basic administrative tools such as spreadsheets, email platforms, and project management software.* Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).**Behaviours**The following attributes determine how the role will be carried out and are required to be a success* Ability to work long hours during event periods, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.* Comfortable working outdoors and on your feet for extended periods.* Passion for music and live events, and a genuine excitement for delivering exceptional festival experiences.* A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to jump in wherever needed.* Strong team player who values collaboration and celebrates shared success.* Calm under pressure, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think clearly in fast-paced environments.* Friendly, approachable, and confident in building positive working relationships.* Good attention-to-detail and pride in completing tasks to a high standard.* Flexible and adaptable—able to pivot quickly and remain positive when plans change.* Enthusiastic and motivated by the unique challenges of festival operations* Confidence* Commitment and willingness to learn**What the role includes**Event Planning & Preparation* Assist with pre-event planning, timelines, and operational checklists.* Coordinate communication with vendors, suppliers, performers, and contractors.* Support permitting, documentation, and compliance tasks.* Help organise supplies, materials, and equipment for festival activation.* Contribute creative ideas that enhance the event experience within music focused environments.On-Site Operations* Serve as a point of contact during load-in, event days, and load-out.* Assist in ordering signage and equipment.* Support volunteer and staff coordination, including distributing credentials and schedules.* Ensure safety protocols, crowd flow, and general event standards are maintained.Vendor & Stakeholder Support* Help manage vendor load-in/load-out processes and placement.* Provide onsite assistance to vendors, artists, sponsors, and partners.* Track and communicate operational updates to the festival team.* Support positive relationships with stakeholders who contribute to the events successAdministrative & Communication Tasks* Maintain logs, supply inventories, and operational documents.* Maintain storage facility inventory* Assist with radio communication and organisation of communication devices.* Collect feedback from vendors, attendees, and staff as directed.* Support budget tracking for equipment, rentals, and operational needs.* Contribute to event documentation that helps improve future music and festival operationsWorking Conditions* Requires weekend, evening, and holiday availability during festival season.* Manual lifting and move equipment as needed.* Fast-paced environment with variable weather conditions.Post-Event* Assist with breakdown and site restoration.* Help with post-event reporting, inventory management, and debrief documentation.**Key Dates**You will be required to attend the following confirmed events plus any other events not yet confirmed;**Download Festival (event dates 9th June – 13th June)** – working onsite for the build and break period and event weekend, with extended hours on event days.**On The Waterfront Festival (event dates 18th June – 21st June)** – Attendance at each of the event days, working extended hours on site.**In the Park Festival (event date 15th August)** - working onsite for the build and break period and event weekend, with extended hours on event days.**Creamfields Festival (event dates 27th August – 30th August)** – working on site for the whole of event week and extended hours on event days.**Equal Opportunities**We are passionate and committed to our people and go beyond the rhetoric of diversity and inclusion.
