Job summary

A leading satellite technology firm is seeking a UAT Specialist in Guildford to deliver User Acceptance Testing as part of the SAP S/4 HANA Public Cloud project. This role requires a degree in an engineering or technical discipline, proven experience with ERP systems, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will work on site a minimum of 4 days per week, focusing on ensuring user acceptance across business functions.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in delivering User Acceptance Testing of an ERP system, preferably SAP S/4 HANA public cloud.
  • Ability to influence, persuade and negotiate with people at all levels.

Job description

*This role sits inside IR35

This role is an exciting opportunity to join SSTL project team to deliver User Acceptance Testing as part of the implementation of SAP S/4 HANA Public Cloud. The role will be responsible for ensuring a fully informed acceptance by the Business community that the ERP system is fit for purpose in relation to the requirements and agreed scope of design. Key to the delivery of the project is to ensure adequate participation from across the relevant business functions.

Key Tasks
  • UAT Preparation
    • Define the Success Criteria of User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
    • Work with business users to define test scripts related to system scope
    • Define test scripts related to non standard functionality, negative cases, integrations and non functional requirements such as security, access, segregation of duties
    • Ensure test data is accurate and populated in the test system
    • Plan the test schedule in line with overall project timetable
    • Schedule appropriate business users to take part in testing
    • Ensure adequate briefing / training is provided in advance of testing
    • Communicate test schedule to SSTL test team and the system integrator
    • Hold a UAT readiness review prior to the execution phase.
  • UAT Execution
    • Monitor the test schedule and report on progress
    • Re-plan / re-schedule / re-test cases where defects are found
    • Facilitate post-test discussion if needed
    • Capture test incidents and defects in the defect log, CALM.
    • Classify all incidents into: System defect (does not match design) - refer to System Integrator for resolution, Additional requirement (does not match user expectation) - prioritise and refer to 'backlog' for further review and Missing or incorrect data
    • Access backlog for inclusion in current or future build (if high priority) and assess impact on planned release with the system integrator
    • Collect and store all test documentation (test scripts, results)
    • Collect and store all approvals
    • Plan and schedule end of UAT exit gate with the Systems Integration organisation and Executive Steering Board.
  • UAT Reporting
    • Report and monitor progress of UAT testing in a burn down report
    • Report and monitor defect remediation by system integration
    • Report on system compliance to the requirements document
    • Look for patterns, trends, or common themes in the defects to identify any deeper, systemic reasons why defects are occurring.
  • Previous Experience
    • Proven experience in delivering User Acceptance Testing of an ERP system, preferably SAP S/4 HANA public cloud
Qualifications Knowledge & Skills

A degree or equivalent in an engineering or technical discipline

  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, able to influence, persuade and negotiate with people at all levels (externally & internally) as well as to assist in reaching compromises when there are conflicting requirements
  • High degree of organisation, self‑motivation and initiative

Location

The role is based in our Head Office in Guildford, and will require a minimum of 4 days per week working on site.
