Job summary
A leading structural engineering consultancy in the UK is looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead design work across diverse projects. This role requires thorough technical expertise in various materials and a minimum of 6 years of consultancy experience. You will manage multiple responsibilities, including client interactions, quality assurance in design outputs, and mentoring junior staff. This position offers a pivotal opportunity within a well-regarded firm dedicated to engineering excellence.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years’ experience within a structural engineering consultancy.
- Strong technical expertise across steel, concrete, timber, masonry, and composite materials.
- Proven experience delivering projects from concept through to completion.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage structural engineering design across multiple projects.
- Deliver high-quality technical outputs in line with relevant UK codes and standards.
- Prepare, check, and approve design calculations, drawings, and technical reports.
- Coordinate effectively with clients, architects, and the wider design team.
- Undertake site inspections and provide technical support during construction.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers, offering guidance and technical leadership.
- Support business development activities, including proposals and client meetings.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and quality systems.
