Job summary
A leading insurance consultancy in Greater London seeks an Underwriting Analyst to join their growing team. The successful candidate will underwrite new and renewal quotes, collaborate with teams for competitive pricing, and require expertise in Python, SQL, R, and Excel. This full-time position offers hybrid working, needing office attendance at least two days a week. Progress towards the Certificate in Insurance (Cert CII) is expected. Qualifications
- Commercial experience in an insurance environment is required.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, R, and Excel is essential.
- Experience with catastrophe modelling or understanding of its fundamentals is important.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite new business and renewal quotes for the UK pipeline.
- Prepare submissions for referral to capacity providers.
- Support business goals through involvement in new products.
- Assist with rating single-risk locations in the US and Australia.
- Liaise with distribution teams for competitive pricing.

Education
We are looking for an Underwriting Analyst to join a growing underwriting team within an innovative parametric insurance business specialising in flood risk. The organisation works with clients across the UK and internationally, combining deep insurance expertise with advanced analytics and technology to deliver faster, fairer, and more resilient insurance solutions.
This is a full-time, permanent position with hybrid working, requiring attendance in the office at least two days per week.
- Underwrite new business and renewal quotes for the UK pipeline in line with service level objectives and personal underwriting authority
- Prepare submissions for referral to capacity providers
- Support business goals through involvement in new products and strategic projects
- Assist with rating single-risk locations in the US and Australia
- Liaise with UK and US distribution teams to ensure competitive pricing and optimal product solutions for clients
- Commercial experience within an insurance environment
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, R, and Excel
- Experience with catastrophe modelling or a strong understanding of catastrophe modelling fundamentals
- Progress towards the Certificate in Insurance (Cert CII)
- You must be authorised to work in the UK
