Job summary
A leading manufacturing company in the UK seeks a Quality Assurance Inspector to support the verification and inspection of customer parts. Responsibilities include inspecting manufactured products, troubleshooting production issues, and training operators in quality techniques. Ideal candidates will have experience in aerospace quality approvals and possess strong analytical and communication skills. A commitment to continuous improvement and a solid understanding of health and safety procedures are also essential.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and verify manufactured products using various equipment.
- Support production in troubleshooting issues and measurement techniques.
- Train operators in quality techniques.
- Produce First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills
Education
To support the verification and inspection of customer parts within the business. To support the company targets, goals and objectives.
- Inspection and verification of manufactured product, using handheld measuring equipment, vision systems, Co-ordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other associated inspection equipment.
- Supporting production in identifying issues, troubleshooting these problems, and advising on best practise measurement techniques
- Training and advising operators in specific quality techniques.
- Producing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
- Positive involvement in continuous improvement initiatives within the business
- Experience of quality approvals within the Aerospace (or similar) industries
- Flexibility and ability to work effectively within a team
- Ability to absorb new training.
- Ability to communicate professionally (excellent listening skills, verbal, written, telephone etc) at all levels, internally and externally
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Customer focus.
- Self-motivated with ability to work with limited supervision.
- Good time management skills.
- Team player with good interpersonal skills.
- Capability of understanding specifications and drawings
- Understanding of subcontract treatments
- CNC CMM capability – program and run
- Good understanding of all measuring equipment within the department (including micrometers, verniers, height gauges, screw measuring equipment, Vision systems and projector/shadowgraph systems)
This role regularly requires long periods of sitting and standing and use of hands to operate electronic equipment. Work may also occasionally involve lifting of materials and products.

- 3+ Year Engineering Apprenticeship completed
- IT Competency - The ability to produce Word documents and Excel spreadsheets
- Good understanding of Health and Safety procedures for factory working
