We’re seeking a skilled and compassionate Dermatology Consultant to join our team delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care. The role involves managing a diverse caseload of dermatological conditions, providing expert diagnosis and treatment, and contributing to multidisciplinary care planning.

• Clinical management – provide expert care for a broad range of dermatological conditions, including skin cancer and inflammatory skin disease.
• Procedural work – perform biopsies, excisions, and minor surgeries as required by the service.
• Teledermoscopy – manage a dedicated teledermoscopy caseload, ensuring timely and accurate remote assessment of skin lesions.
• Clinical leadership – mentor junior staff, contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions, and help shape service development.
• Documentation & governance – maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to governance, safety, and quality standards.
• Collaboration – work closely with colleagues across specialties to ensure integrated, patient‑centred care.

• Full GMC registration and licence to practice
• On the Specialist Register or expected to obtain a relevant CCT within 6 months of interview
• Portfolio Pathway (CESR) or equivalent European qualification for specialist registration
• MRCP
• Valid Certified Advanced Life Support skills

• Relevant higher degree (MD, PhD, MSc)

• Broad experience in dermatology
• Knowledge of UK hospital systems (or equivalent)
• Participation in CPD
• Competence in dermatology practice

• Experience within the NHS
• Broader experience, research and training in sub‑specialty service provision
• Evidence of above‑average performance
• Additional clinical qualifications

• Participation in clinical audit and understanding the role of audit in improving practice

• Knowledge of risk management
• Knowledge of annual job planning/appraisal review processes

• Experience and knowledge of critical appraisal of evidence to improve clinical outcomes

• Evidence of initiating, progressing and concluding research projects with publication
• Research degree
