What is the opportunity?

At Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) our purpose is clear – to keep people safe from terrorism. To do this we are constantly evolving; developing new and innovative ways to counter the ever shifting terrorist threat.

Central to this is our Business Design practice which combines strategy, organisation design, and management consulting expertise to help define the future shape of CTP and drive transformational change. The Business Design practice is growing and we’re looking for enthusiastic individuals with the right blend of critical thinking, creativity, insight, agility and enthusiasm to join this forward‑thinking community of problem solvers.

We recognise the importance of balancing core skill development with individual goals.

We’ll provide a structured training and development programme and encourage support for your personal development and growth.

As a community we embrace individuality and see our unique differences as key to realising both our individual potential, and our organisational purpose. What is the job role and purpose?

As a Junior Business Design Analyst you’ll leverage new technologies, varied datasets, and specialist operational knowledge to undertake detailed analytical activities to develop evidence‑based solutions to some of CTP’s most complex challenges. You’ll collaborate and build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders from across the public sector, playing a pivotal role in reacting and reshaping the country’s CT approach.

Where will you fit in the design team structure?

The Business Design practice has three levels of experience, with a focus on development and career progression. Entering as a Business Design Analyst, you will take the leading role on project design activity, line‑manage Junior Business Design Analyst(s) and be supported by Business Design Leads.

Joining this role will unlock opportunities within this team and across wider opportunities within Counter Terrorism Policing.

  • Entry - Junior Business Design Analyst (Band D)
  • Experienced – Business Design Analyst (Band C)
  • Senior – Business Design Lead (Band B)
What will be your key roles and responsibilities?
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to define organisational problems, design appropriate solutions, and determine the impact of both on CTP’s operating model
  • Support the translation of complex organisational problems and solutions into simple compelling narratives that achieve broad business consensus
  • Lead in the organisation of workshops, stakeholder engagement and other relevant meetings and boards
  • Proactively assist in maturing the business design practice, expanding your own and others’ skillset, providing assurance, and developing new approaches
