This position sits within our successful and market-leading Valuation & Investment Advisory team, which is structured through ‘Commercial’ Valuation, ‘Specialist’ Valuation and ‘Investment Advisory’ workstreams. The team provides a focused yet diverse range of services to both public and private sector clients. These include purchase and disposal reports, asset valuations, option appraisals, secured lending valuations, credit assessments, alternative use evaluations, portfolio strategy advice, overage and expert witness/dispute resolution advice - all of which is underpinned by valuation expertise.

With growing demand for its services from both established and new clients, the team has ambitious plans for expansion, we are now seeking a Surveyor/ Senior Surveyor to join the team. This is a pivotal role that involves delivering a wide range of valuation-focused advice while managing and mentoring a team of surveyors and graduate surveyors. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Surveyor/Senior Surveyor to join our Valuation & Advisory team, working across a diverse mix of public and private sector portfolio work.

The successful candidate has an exciting opportunity to advise a variety of UK and international clients, both public and private, on an extensive range of asset types, including (but not exhaustive) major mixed‑use regeneration projects, industrial and logistics parks, town centre regeneration projects, shopping centres and retail warehouse parks, trophy and ‘value‑add’ office buildings, schools and sports stadia.

Our key clients include:

• Lenders – Canada Life, Investec, HSBC, Cain International, Zorin, Ahli United Bank
• Developers & PropCos – Almacantar, Mace, CIPF, Chancerygate, Marchmont
• Asset Valuations for Local Authorities - Runnymede Borough Council, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and London Borough of Sutton.

MAIN DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Undertake valuations for investment, development, and financial reporting purposes.
• Prepare detailed valuation reports in accordance with the RICS Valuation – Global Standards (Red Book).
• Use sound market analysis and recognised valuation methodologies across commercial, operational and mixed‑use assets.
• Preparing high quality Red Book valuation reports and written advice for clients.
• Research, analysis and presentation of complex planning, appraisal and market data;
• Liaising with clients and auditors to discuss valuation inputs and outputs.
• Business development and client meetings.

• Contribute to team development through knowledge‑sharing and supporting junior colleagues.
• Work collaboratively with other Montagu Evans teams to provide holistic advice.

• Stay up-to-date with market trends, regulatory updates, and wider economic influences.
• Represent the firm at industry events, client meetings, and networking opportunities.
• Raising the internal and external profile of the VA team through industry events and activities.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

• MRICS qualified and competent in standard RICS Red Book valuations.
• High attention to detail, well organised and a good initiative level.
