A leading aerospace consultancy in the UK is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to support the development of an aircraft console system. The position focuses on DO-178C compliance activities and includes opportunities for embedded C development. This 6-month contract starts ASAP in 2026, is inside IR35, and offers the flexibility of remote work. Strong experience in software code reviews and safety-critical systems is required. We’re excited to be supporting an ongoing aerospace programme with one of CMC’s long-standing clients, and we’re now looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with DO-178 experience to join their team. The project is well established and currently approaching Critical Design Review, with additional support required to maintain delivery momentum.
This role will support the development of an aircraft console system, with a focus on DO-178C compliance activities, including tool qualification, software reviews, and supporting documentation. There may also be the opportunity to contribute to module specifications and embedded C development, depending on experience.
This is a 6-month contract starting ASAP in 2026, with a strong likelihood of extension. The role is inside IR35 and can be worked on the remote basis.
