Job description

We’re excited to be supporting an ongoing aerospace programme with one of CMC’s long-standing clients, and we’re now looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with DO-178 experience to join their team. The project is well established and currently approaching Critical Design Review, with additional support required to maintain delivery momentum.

This role will support the development of an aircraft console system, with a focus on DO-178C compliance activities, including tool qualification, software reviews, and supporting documentation. There may also be the opportunity to contribute to module specifications and embedded C development, depending on experience.

This is a 6-month contract starting ASAP in 2026, with a strong likelihood of extension. The role is inside IR35 and can be worked on the remote basis.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience working to DO-178C
  • Experience performing software code reviews for safety-critical systems
  • Embedded C development for real-time or aerospace applications
  • Familiarity with SCADE Display or similar model-based tools (desirable)
