You’ll learn on‑the‑job, developing your knowledge and skills in an area that interests you, while working towards your apprenticeship qualification with one of our learning providers.

WHY JOIN THIS SCHEME?

This is your chance to launch a career at the very heart of British broadcasting. We’re looking for individuals passionate about how we make content and bring ideas to life. Depending on your placement area, you could be working behind the scenes on exciting productions, from gripping dramas to the thrill of live radio, and gain a recognised qualification while learning on the job.

To find out more about the schemes we offer, register for one of our webinars. The webinar for this scheme takes place on Wednesday 10th December at 6pm. If you cannot attend, the video will be available on our YouTube playlist.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM?

The BBC Audio team creates and delivers more than 100 hours of original audio each day across Radio 1, Radio 2, Radio 3, Radio 4, and the World Service, as well as content for BBC Sounds. Our podcasts and radio programmes are heard around the world. We work with some of the biggest names in music, entertainment, and journalism, bringing the greatest festivals and events to life for our audiences.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

As a Production Apprentice you will:

  • Create segments for programmes.
  • Work in live studio environments or out on location.

You’ll also attend learning blocks (up to a week at a time) with our learning provider, working towards an industry‑recognised apprenticeship qualification – Level 3 Production Assistant. Learning blocks will include both in‑person and virtual delivery.

YOUR SKILLS AND ELIGIBILITY

We’re interested in your passion for working at the BBC and your enthusiasm for delivering world‑class content. We look for potential and offer you the opportunity to apply your transferable strengths and experience to work in different ways.

  • Passionate about music and knowledgeable about DJs.
  • Enthusiastic about audio production.
  • Keen to learn all aspects of programme making.

This scheme is aimed at non‑graduates. If you have a degree, consider applying for other BBC roles or apprenticeship schemes.
