Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Audiologist to join our forward‑thinking Audiology Team on a permanent basis.

The Adult Audiology Service is based at the Queen’s Hospital but also delivers activity at various community locations across Staffordshire. We provide a range of routine and specialist services, including general ENT clinics, specialist otology/tinnitus/balance assessments, hearing rehabilitation, tinnitus management and therapy, and specialist audiological diagnostic investigations.

There will be a requirement to deliver some clinical activity at a range of community locations and therefore a need to have access to a car.

We are a complex only service and therefore provide more opportunities to expand your knowledge and work with a more varied cohort of patients.

As a minimum, you will be expected to be an Audiologist with a BSc (Hons)/MSc in Audiology or equivalent.

Main duties of the job
  • The successful applicant will join our Team of Audiologists to provide a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative service which will include working with patients with more complex audiological issues. The department also works closely with and provides support for ENT clinics.
  • You will be expected to work across a number of sites, so a willingness to travel/access to a motor vehicle is essential.
  • The post holder may also lead a team working in a specialist area. The post holder will work with the Adult Audiology Lead to ensure that Clinical and Professional standards are maintained at all times.

Education, Training and Qualifications CPD Requirements
  • BSc in Audiology or equivalent, with post qualification previous experience. or BAAT I and II
  • Maintenance of continual professional development
  • Registered with HCPC or RCCP
  • Demonstrable evidence of previous audit experience
Experience & Knowledge
  • Good level of clinical and technical knowledge in specialist areas including tinnitus and balance
  • Involvement in clinical research and audit
Skills and Ability
  • To be able to demonstrate the ability to organise own day‑to‑day work
  • IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Previous use of Auditbase and a variety of hearing aid software
