The main purpose of this position is to carry out planned and reactive maintenance in support of a high speed packaging line, production or utilities areas. The role is vital for the efficiency, quality and cost of the plant. You be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance support across high-speed lines.**Accountabilities:**Duties include:Mechanical maintenance, including* Undertake, drive and support maintenance and improvement activities* Identify CI opportunities* Developing SOPs and learning documents to share best practice across shifts with respect to maintenance and CIL* Developing safety, and maintenance procedures* Liaise with suppliers of OEM’s for the provision of spares/services* Support the development and maintenance of a high performance, flexible and “can do” culture* Carry out planned preventative maintenance* Machinery fault diagnosis and repairs* Use of Plant Optimisation tools to ensure sustainability of high departmental standards, Hygiene and PDCA* Undertake, drive and support maintenance and improvement activities* Share best practice across shifts with respect to maintenance and CIL* Review and develop safety and maintenance procedures (SWI)* Record all maintenance activities within maintenance management system (SAP)* Liaise with suppliers of OEM’s for the provision of spares/services* Maintenance prioritisation and planning* Support the development and maintenance of a high performance, flexible and “can do” culture* Analyse machines to improve performance* Identify critical spares for designated machines* Refurbish spares as required* Complete some work at heights, confined space & as a lone worker* Project work* Carrying out quality inspections on jobs* Liaising & assisting client departments and customers* Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment* Monitoring and controlling maintenance costs* Writing, reviewing & updating maintenance SOP’s, OPL’s & job tasks.* Working in a safe manner following all company policies and procedures* Ensure all safety systems are in working orderKey skills, knowledge and Competencies* Proactive & self-managed engineer who are professional and have a can do attitude* Good communication skills and above all take pride in the work they are completing* On occasions you will be expected to work with external contractors* Understanding of Continuous Improvements, HACCP and Food Safety protocols.* Undertake activities to support VPO compliance and sustainability* Comply with health, safety and hygiene policies and practices at all times and ensure standards are maintained* Positive “can do” attitude* Committed to a high performance and CI environment* Support a “Learning Organisation” environment* Analysis of numerical information and good IT literacy* Ability to make decisions and challenge* High levels of team working* Hygiene will be of the utmost importance and a good understanding of Quality testing and microbiology would be useful.* Ability to work under own initiative and prioritise workload effectively* Ability to work as part of a team, interacting effectively with a variety of departments and individuals* Strong organisation skills with a structured and systematic approach, adhering to deadlines, able to work on own initiative and prioritise workload effectively.**Build your career with us**We recruit for mindset, ambition, cultural fit, and growth opportunities.**Unique culture**We are proud to be part of something bigger than ourselves and are passionate about building upon our company’s long legacy.
