Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fire Systems Small Works Installation Engineer to join our growing team.

You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning of small-scale fire detection and alarm system projects across a variety of commercial & residential sites.

This is a field-based role requiring technical expertise, customer interaction, and a proactive attitude.

Key Responsibilities

Install, commission, and test fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with BS 5839-1 and client requirements
Carry out small works installations, including modifications and upgrades to existing systems
Complete detailed job reports, commissioning certificates, and handover documentation
Liaise effectively with customers, project managers, and other stakeholders
Ensure work is completed within budget and timeline, maintaining high-quality standards
Adhere to all company policies, health and safety regulations, and industry standards
Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers or apprentices, if required
Participate in training and development sessions to maintain up-to-date knowledge of systems and regulations
Proven experience in installing and commissioning fire alarm systems
Strong knowledge of BS 5839 and relevant fire safety standards
Familiarity with key fire alarm systems such as Gent, Advanced, Kentec, Apollo, Hochiki, etc.
Full UK driving license
ECS or CSCS Card
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Desirable Qualifications

Experience with emergency lighting systems or additional life safety systems
Electrical qualifications (e.g., 18th Edition, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation)
