A financial institution is seeking a Senior Manager Data Enablement & Data Risk to oversee data governance specialists and lead the development of an enterprise-wide data risk program. In this position you will manage data governance specialists and lead the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide data risk programme consisting of management policies, processes, standards, metrics, controls and training. This will include providing subject matter expertise to develop and support the delivery of a data literacy campaign to improve data understanding maturity across the group. This role is pivotal in ensuring that data assets are managed effectively, securely and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The role will collaborate across business units to establish robust data governance frameworks, mitigate data-related risks and drive a culture of data accountability.
Key duties will include partnering with teams to classify data, maintain data definitions, identify critical and sensitive data for core capabilities, support data sourcing/usage requests, define data quality controls and scorecards, provide resources to solve data issues, and drive consistency, standardization, usability, and change management of data products and data capabilities. You will also investigate, catalogue, organise, document internal and external application and system data in conjunction with data architecture.
You will be able to demonstrate work experience in large scale/enterprise data projects, with substantial direct experience relating to creation and execution of formal data governance and/or data management programme, and of driving meaningful improvements in business value through data management.
Excellent experience in data management, knowledge of data standards, data cataloguing, tagging, lineage and delivering operational data products in flexible data management frameworks is also essential as is working knowledge of current and upcoming data governance, data management, data lifecycle management and data product techniques and trends, with a point of view on evolving concepts and best practices.
Ideally you will also hold a range of professional industry qualifications in data management, data protection, information governance.
