The Operations and Partnership Manager role has been created to strengthen Heart Valve Voice’s organisational capacity and ensure the effective delivery of its strategic priorities. The post will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operational management, supporting robust governance and reporting, and coordinating programmes across policy, awareness, and patient engagement activity. A core element of the role will be building and maintaining strategic partnerships with NHS bodies, clinical societies, voluntary sector organisations, and other stakeholders, ensuring patient insight is embedded in service improvement, guideline implementation, and system change. The role will support sustainable growth, enhance collaboration, and ensure Heart Valve Voice continues to represent patient voices credibly, independently, and effectively at a national level.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient delivery of HVV’s programmes, campaigns, and policy activities.
- Manage internal systems including governance processes, reporting, scheduling, and compliance.
- Support the Executive Director in developing operational plans and monitoring organisational performance.
- Manage budgets for projects and activities, ensuring strong financial oversight.
Partnership and Stakeholder Management
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with NHS England, NICE, clinical societies, industry partners, patient groups, and academic collaborators.
- Coordinate joint working groups, roundtables, and advisory panels to drive forward key priorities such as early detection, equitable access, and guideline implementation.
- Develop new partnerships to expand HVV’s influence and reach.
Programme Delivery and Coordination
- Lead the operational delivery of awareness campaigns, patient engagement activities, and policy programmes.
- Ensure all partnership outputs are delivered on time, within budget, and to high quality.
- Oversee monitoring and evaluation processes to track outcomes and impact.
Communications and Representation
- Support the development of content and messaging for campaigns, reports, and stakeholder meetings.
- Represent HVV at external meetings, conferences, and events as required.
- Work with communications colleagues to align messaging with organisational objectives.
Governance and Compliance
- Ensure organisational policies, risk registers, safeguarding practices, and data management systems are up to date and adhered to.
- Support preparation for trustee meetings, including papers, reporting packs, and minutes.
Person Specification
- Knowledge of the heart valve disease sector, including pathways, clinical guidelines, treatment options, and key system challenges.
- Experience in partnership or stakeholder management within health, charity, NHS, or policy environments.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with ability to manage multiple programmes simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating cross-sector collaborations or advisory groups.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems proactively.
- Commitment to improving patient outcomes and reducing health inequalities.
- Understanding of governance, compliance, and operational processes.
- Lived experience of heart valve disease,either as a patient, carer, or close family member.
- Experience working within a cardiovascular, clinical, or public health charity.
- Experience supporting policy, advocacy, or public affairs activity.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as NICE, MHRA, and commissioning processes.
- Experience using CRM systems, evaluation tools, and digital platforms to support operations.
- Experience coordinating awareness campaigns or patient engagement activities.
- Ability to analyse data or real-world evidence to support policy or operational decisions

Flexibility will be expected, with time off in lieu provided in line with organisational policy.
