A leading healthcare provider in Enfield is seeking a Band 8a Practitioner Psychologist to join the Pain Management team. This part-time role (30 hours per week) focuses on delivering psychological assessments and interventions for patients with chronic pain. The ideal candidate must possess a doctoral level qualification in psychology and experience within pain management services. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, supporting both individual and group therapeutic interventions.

Band 8a Practitioner Psychologist in Pain Management
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Enfield Pain Service (EPS) which serves patients who have a long‑term pain condition e.g. chronic lower back pain, chronic widespread pain, fibromyalgia. The EPS is staffed by a supportive team of medical, physiotherapy and psychology professionals as we acknowledge that pain impacts a person’s life in lots of different ways.
You’ll be working under the supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist to deliver psychological assessment and intervention (1:1 and group pain management programmes based on CBT/ACT/CFT) for this cohort of patients. You’ll also be supporting the wider multidisciplinary team and liaising with relevant external community services e.g. "Talking Therapies", MSK services, community mental health teams. As one of the senior clinicians in the service, you’ll be managing and supervising other members of the EPS, leading on aspects of service delivery, evaluation and innovation, and taking on managerial duties to ensure the effective running of the service. Previous experience of working in Pain and/or Long‑term Health Conditions is essential. Having additional training and experience in EMDR and PTSD would be advantageous.
