Main duties of the job

Key elements of the role:

  • Contributing to the production of financial reports in accordance with Trust procedures and timetables.
  • Budget statement reconciliation and analysis.
  • Investigating variances and making any necessary adjustments.
  • Identifying data processing errors and making corrective changes.
  • Manipulating income and expenditure data for forecasting and budget setting exercises.
  • Validation of new spend and involvement in business cases.
  • Active engagement with budget holders and other Trust colleagues is paramount to being successful in this position.

Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level, NVQ level 4 or equivalent
  • Equivalent professional experience
  • To be working towards an AAT qualification
  • To be working towards a CCAB qualification
Experience
  • Experience of working in an accounting department, including in a specialist financial management role
  • Prioritisation, planning and organising own and others' tasks
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • NHS or other public sector organisation experience
Knowledge
