Join us to drive transformation tailored to our client's challenges of today and tomorrow. Informed and validated by science and data. Superpowered by creativity and design. All underpinned by technology created with purpose.

Your Role

As a Senior Manager in Cloud Economics/FinOps at Capgemini Invent you will be part of our Cloud Advisory capability within the wider Business Technology capability unit. Our Cloud Advisory capability aims to inspire, lead, and support organisations on their journey of adopting cloud for creating business and revenue models, generating growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, and reducing their carbon footprint.

The Cloud Economics function covers Cloud Business Case, FinOps, and Cloud Value Realisation. You will focus on advising our clients on processes and solutions that will help ensure that they are gaining the greatest value from their cloud solutions at all stages of the cloud adoption journey.

You will be required to work and communicate with all levels of an organisation to collaboratively innovate, design, and implement new cloud economics models. You’ll bring an acute sense of market trends and the challenges facing our clients, to deliver lasting and sustainable organisation transformations.

In this role you will play a key role in:

  • Cost Optimisation Analysis: Review and analyse cloud usage patterns to identify cost saving opportunities. Guide cloud users on methods to optimise cloud usage, establish and enforce budget‑aligned policies for financial accountability.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare detailed financial reports including forecasting and present these to senior client management and application teams to highlight cloud spend and trajectory to provide visibility into cloud spending.
  • Policy and Governance: Establish cloud governance policies, guardrails and best practice to assure cost control.
  • Training and Enablement: Provide training on FinOps best practices and establish mechanisms to promote a culture of accountability and cost awareness.
  • Vendor Engagement: Engage and manage relationships with cloud vendors.

As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:

  • Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
  • Internal Contribution – Campaign development, internal think‑tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
  • Learning & Development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications, etc.
Your Profile

Here are some of the key skills and experience we would like—but not limited to—as we value and appreciate the diverse backgrounds and perspectives everyone brings. If you feel this role aligns with your strengths and aspirations, we encourage you to apply.

  • Experience of working on FinOps projects and initiatives
  • Setup and definition of Cloud FinOps CoEs and governance models for large or mid‑sized organisations
  • FinOps certified
  • Experience of working with one or more cloud vendors including AWS, Azure and GCP.
  • Good understanding of billing and metering for cloud platforms and TCO analysis based on usage
  • Hands‑on working experience in one or more FinOps and TBM tools like Cloudability, CloudCheckr, Cloudhealth, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management etc.
  • Good understanding of cloud cost optimisation techniques across storage, data transfer, compute, database and monitoring.
  • Good understanding of cloud contracting models, commitment models and licensing models
  • Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
  • Experience of proposition building and delivery.
  • Being comfortable in a client‑facing role, with previously consulting or advisory experience (desirable)

In addition to the capabilities mentioned above, we are looking for an additional set of experiences from candidates seeking to apply to the Senior Manager position:

  • Evidence of having successfully delivered and led advisory engagements, driving positive outcomes and developing opportunities to deliver follow‑on work.
  • Evidence of managing teams, including multiple workstreams in complex delivery environments.
  • The ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
  • Business development – utilising a combination of the organisation’s broader pre‑existing relationships, company relationships and your own network, you’ll be generating c.£1m of consulting revenues.
