Job summary

A prestigious NHS children's hospital in London is seeking a full-time Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist to join a dynamic team. The role involves extensive clinical duties including inpatient care, leading ward rounds, and participating in service-wide multi-disciplinary meetings. Candidates should possess significant experience in Paediatric Gastroenterology and relevant qualifications, including a GMC registration. This position promotes a diverse and inclusive workforce and offers a competitive salary range between £109,725 and £145,478 per annum.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in Paediatric Gastroenterology.
  • Gastroenterology training in recognised Paediatric GI units.
  • Valid BLS training.
  • Evidence of up to date training in Child Safeguarding (level 3).

Responsibilities

  • Share outpatient and inpatient service with other consultants.
  • Conduct ward rounds on weekends and public holidays.
  • Lead a team of middle-grade doctors in inpatient care.
  • Attend service-wide MDTs such as histology and radiology meetings.

Skills

Independent Upper and lower GI endoscopy skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent leadership and organisational skills
Ability to perform and report oesophageal HR manometry

Education

MBBS or Equivalent
Full GMC registration
MRCP, MRCPCH or equivalent
Higher Degree Management course, PhD, MD or equivalent
