About Us

Egis is a leading global consulting, construction engineering and operating firm. We work hand-in-hand with our clients, across every aspect of transport, energy and the built environment to build a more balanced, sustainable and resilient world. The Egis Group has more than 50 years of experience and a team of 20,000 employees in over 100 countries around the world. Joining our Group means, above all, sharing our values as a people-first company, strongly committed to sustainability and innovation.

In the UK we're proud to be delivering some of the most iconic projects which help connect people, protect our environment and meet emission reduction targets. From motorways to tramways, nuclear power plants to smart cities, clients choose us to help them solve their most complex challenges - delivering climate-responsible growth that meets the needs of communities, industry and the planet.

Our experts are behind some of the world’s most complex and safety-critical energy projects, such as ITER in France, or Hinkley Point C Power Plant in the UK. From feasibility studies to greenfield power plants, to energy-saving, distribution, waste management and nuclear decommissioning, working with us means you will have the opportunity to guide clients through the energy transition and help create a tangible net-zero future.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Engineer to join our dynamic team in the nuclear civil work industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing conceptual models of engineering delivery, building configuration conceptual, logical, and physical models (databases), and supporting the development of requirement management. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and effective industrialization of production processes within the nuclear civil work sector.

Key Responsibilities

Develop Conceptual Models:

  • Create and refine conceptual models of engineering delivery processes specific to nuclear civil work
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document engineering requirements and workflows
  • Ensure that conceptual models align with business objectives and technical constraints within the nuclear industry

Build Configuration Models:

  • Develop and maintain configuration conceptual, logical, and physical models for databases
  • Ensure data models are accurate, efficient, and scalable to support industrialization of production processes
  • Work closely with database administrators and developers to implement and optimize models

Support Requirement Management:

  • Assist in the development and management of engineering requirements for nuclear civil work projects
  • Ensure requirements are clearly defined, documented, and communicated to all relevant stakeholders
  • Facilitate requirement reviews and validation sessions with stakeholders

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and IT specialists
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Provide training and support to team members on modelling and requirement management best practices

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in the industrialization of production processes
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to system engineering and database modelling
  • Contribute to the development of internal standards and guidelines
What do we need from you
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience in system engineering, with a focus on conceptual modelling, database configuration, and requirement management, preferably in the nuclear civil work industry
  • Proficient in modelling tools such as UML, BPMN, or similar
  • Strong knowledge of database design and management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant certifications in system engineering or database management are a plus
What's in it for you?
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression
  • A collaborative work environment focused on innovation and excellence
  • The chance to work on cutting-edge projects and technologies in the nuclear civil sector

Note:Given the nature of the work, role holders may be required to undergo Basic Security Clearance (BPSS).
